LEGO Festival at LEGOLAND Windsor: Our Honest Review (Plus Our Woodland Lodge Stay!)
AD | Maisie and I had the most amazing time at the LEGO Festival at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort this week and I honestly can’t stop talking about it. We were invited along by the team at LEGOLAND (thank you!) but as always, everything below is exactly what we thought, good and honest.
I hadn’t been to LEGOLAND for years and I genuinely wish we’d gone more often. If you’re trying to decide whether it’s worth a visit this summer, here’s absolutely everything you need to know, including our overnight stay in one of the Woodland Lodges, which was just lovely.

What is the LEGO Festival at LEGOLAND Windsor?
The LEGO Festival runs across the summer at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, from 20th July to 31st August 2026. The best bit? It’s included in your normal LEGOLAND ticket price, so you’re not paying anything extra to take part.
The festival brings five new play zones to the park, each one packed with build challenges, live shows and photo moments. It’s basically a whole extra layer of fun and entertainment for free, on top of the rides and attractions you’d already get on a normal day at LEGOLAND.
How the Build Challenge Works
When you arrive, you head to the LEGO Festival stand where you’re given a free wristband and a challenge card. The idea is simple:
- Pick up your festival guide and wristband at the entrance
- Complete at least 3 build challenges as you make your way around the park, one in each zone you visit, and get your card stamped
- Take your stamped card back to the festival stand and claim your reward
We weren’t sure what to expect from the reward, but Maisie was given an actual LEGO set, not just a sticker or a token gift, and she was completely over the moon with it.
The Five LEGO Festival Zones
There are five zones dotted around the park and honestly, you can’t miss them when you’re near them, they’re bright, loud and impossible to walk past.
Thrill Zone
This one is F1 themed and it was so much fun. The challenge was to complete a LEGO Formula 1 car pit stop, and I’m not talking miniature bricks either, these were actual child sized car parts. Genuinely brilliant, and a great one for slightly older kids or anyone with a need for speed.
Creative Zone
This ended up being our favourite. It’s an interactive challenge where you build your own creature out of LEGO bricks, with guidance and encouragement from an actual LEGO master builder. There’s something really lovely about pressure free creative time like this, no rules, no right or wrong answer, just building.
Music Zone
We loved the Battle of the Bands show here. There’s a huge LEGO DJ booth as a photo spot too, which Maisie thought was brilliant.
Chill Out Zone
This is based in the DUPLO part of the park and was just perfect if you’ve got younger children with you, or honestly, if you fancy a breather yourself. There’s an adorable show and the chance to meet Hopsy the rabbit and get a photo. Fair warning, it’s popular, so getting a clean photo without someone else’s child wandering into shot is basically part of the challenge.
Play Zone
The fifth zone rounds off the set and keeps little ones entertained with more hands on play, so it’s well worth seeking out too, especially if you’ve got a mix of ages in your group.
What Else We Got Up To
Away from the festival zones, we still had a full day of classic LEGOLAND fun. We went on The Dragon rollercoaster (I may have not fully warned Maisie how big the drops were beforehand, sorry Maisie), rode the carousel, and generally established that Maisie is very much a fan of the low octane rides over anything too thrilling. Good to know for next time.
There’s also a huge display of LEGO creations across the park, including an enormous mountain scene covered in tiny figures and animals, which we could have looked at for ages. What we really loved was that you get to display your own creations too once you’ve finished a build challenge, and see what everyone else has made. Such a lovely touch, and Maisie has already told me she wants to start building LEGO again at home, which was honestly a joy to hear.
The staff throughout the day were brilliant with the kids too, so much positivity and genuine enthusiasm for whatever the children had built.
Where We Stayed: LEGOLAND Woodland Lodge
We were lucky enough to stay overnight in one of the Woodland Lodges at LEGOLAND Woodland Village, and it might just be the cutest accommodation we’ve ever stayed in. LEGO creations everywhere, a play area right outside the door, and it’s walking distance to the park itself.
As a mum of 3, here’s why I’d recommend it:
- Free parking included
- Walking distance to the theme park entrance
- A play area right outside your lodge
- A delicious breakfast included
- A double bed plus a separate bunk bed room, with a pull out bed for a third child (trust me, finding accommodation that comfortably sleeps 3 kids is rare)
LEGOLAND Woodland Village also has the Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar on site for campfire style dining, and there are two lodge options depending on your group size. The Standard Woodland Lodge sleeps up to 5, and the Premium Woodland Lodge sleeps up to 7 if you need a bit more space. There are also Woodland Barrels if you fancy a more budget friendly, glamping style stay for up to 4.
Packages typically include your overnight stay, a day’s theme park entry, early park access, breakfast and a free in room LEGO gift, though what’s included does vary depending on the date and package you book, so it’s worth checking what’s included before you book.
Our Top Tips for Visiting the LEGO Festival
- Pack sun tan lotion and a sun hat. There’s plenty of shade dotted around to sit and eat your lunch and get some respite from the sun, but you’ll still want protection
- Download the LEGOLAND app before you go, there are shows on across the zones throughout the day and the app has all the timings
- Try to get there in the morning if you can. The park definitely got busier in the afternoon, and queues for the build challenges were much smaller earlier in the day
- Don’t rush the Creative Zone, it’s a lovely bit of unhurried, pressure free time for the kids to just build
Our Verdict
We genuinely had such an amazing day, and the LEGO Festival made an already brilliant day out even better. It’s the kind of extra touch that costs LEGOLAND nothing to add to your ticket, but adds so much to your visit. Maisie and I would both highly recommend a trip this summer, and I honestly wish we were taking our nieces and nephew along too, they would love it.
